It is an honor and privilege to represent the residents of Hasbrouck Heights as a Councilman, Commissioner of Recreation, and Deputy Commissioner of Finance, Transportation, Public Works, and Land Use.
I Graduated Rowan University with a Bachelors of Arts in Elementary Education and then later a Graduate of New Jersey City University with a Masters of Arts in Educational Leadership. I have been teaching in Hasbrouck Heights for over twenty years working at Euclid Elementary, Hasbrouck Heights Middle School and also a course in the Hasbrouck Heights High School. In 2008 was selected as the Middle School Teacher of the Year. I currently lead Euclid Elementary School as the Principal, which I have had the honor of doing so for the past 9 years.
I have served 16 years in the United States Marine Corps Reserve with over 5 years on Active Duty Status. I left for Marine Corps Recruit Depot just two days after graduation from High School and then contacted a Prior Service Recruiter to reenlist weeks after September 11th. I was later Activated back into The United States Marine Corps, and Deployed in Support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and The Black Sea Rotational Force. While serving my country I have achieved the rank of a Staff Non-Commissioned Officer, and earned the Navy Marine Corps Achievement, National Defense Service, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary, and Global War on Terrorism Service Medals as well as the Navy Sea Service Deployment Ribbon.
I continue to serve our great community of Hasbrouck Heights in a plethora of organizations. I am a member and Past President of our Lions Club, a service organization whose mission is to assist those in need and provide for our community. The Hasbrouck Heights Lions Club has made various donations to our community, with one of the more notable being the clock that is directly in front of the Municipal Building. I am the Quarter Master of Hasbrouck Heights Memorial Post 4591, an organization that works to support veterans, service members and their families, as well as communities worldwide. I am also a previous appointed by the Mayor and Council to serve as a Trustee on the Hasbrouck Heights Free Public Library Board and a member of the Hasbrouck Heights Zoning Board.
I reside on Washington Place here in Hasbrouck Heights with my wife Jeanine and our two boys Daniel and Christopher. The boys have had the privilege and joy of participating in many of the town recreational on club sports to include Soccer, Baseball, Football, Wrestling, Swim and Dive. My family is also currently members of all three of the PTA organizations that support our students. Jeanine was a past board member of the Junior Woman’s Club and currently is on the Swim Club Board.
As you probably already know, we live in a very special community. A community that welcomes each other, a community that looks out for each other, and community that helps each other. Our elected officials have fostered this community as to what it is today. I am proud to say I represent the community and will always strive to continue to keep Heights the special community it is today, while improving upon what our predecessors have accomplished.
